What is Project Management?

Project Management is a formal methodology designed to bring complex projects to completion on time, on budget, and within scope. It is the application of knowledge, skills, and techniques to execute projects effectively and efficiently. It is a strategic competency for organizations, enabling them to tie project results to business goals, and thus, better compete in their markets. In today’s market, project management has never been more relevant or critical as companies are increasingly forced to accomplish more with fewer resources.

Project Management and Agile

Project Management is not the opposite of Agile. In fact, professionals can learn how to weave the two management styles together.

  • Project Management is structured, disciplined, and process-driven.
  • Agile is fluid, reflective, and accommodating.

In combination, a business employs project management processes until it hits an identified goal. Based on the feedback from the customer, the Project Manager can adjust its next goal as needed and then move forward with the project management steps once again.

Springhouse teaches and mentors Project Management and Agile, as well as techniques like Scrum and Kanban. Our comprehensive catalog ensures students are well-versed in all concepts for new ways of working.
