Springhouse has achieved Premier Authorized Training Partner (ATP) status with Project Management Institute® (PMI) as a result of meeting rigorous standards for training quality and effectiveness.
Springhouse’s partnership with PMI dates back to 2012 when it became a Registered Education Provider (R.E.P.). In 2020, PMI unveiled its new ATP affiliate structure and announced it will sunset its R.E.P. program in 2021.
In addition to earning the ATP designation, being a long-time R.E.P., and providing more than a decade of project management services, Springhouse is a past recipient of PMI’s prestigious “Professional Development Provider of the Year Award” for outstanding solutions in the area of project management.
High-quality project management instruction
The new ATP designation ensures students are receiving PMI-developed training from trusted and vetted instructors at approved partner organizations. To qualify, all instructors who teach the Project Management Professional (PMP)® exam prep course must complete and pass the Authorized Training Partner Train the Trainer – PMP® Exam Prep program and use PMI course content.
Springhouse’s lead project management instructor, Kevin Kovalic, PMP*, completed PMI’s required training and successfully attained ATP Instructor status. Kovalic is a certified project management trainer. Over the past 10 years, he has taught project management and business analysis and custom offerings to thousands of students. He has more than 20 years of experience working in project management combined with 25+ years in the IT industry.
According to PMI, “Earners of the Authorized Training Partner Instructor badge possess a PMP® certification as well as Agile project experience. Through their knowledge and experience, they have demonstrated their skill and expertise in preparing students to sit for the PMP® certification exam.”
Leading-edge curriculum and materials
When individuals prepare for the PMP exam, training with a Premier ATP affiliate ensures they are receiving the PMI Authorized PMP® Exam Prep course. This session meets the 35-hour education requirement needed to sit for the certification exam. Beginning January 2021, this will be the only course that PMI will accept toward its education requirement.
Additionally, content management for the course is maintained by PMI. Students always learn from the most updated course materials. This includes the latest version of A Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK® Guide). In early 2021, PMI will release the PMBOK® Guide – Seventh Edition.
Project management training and consulting at Springhouse
Professionals looking to strategically orchestrate tasks and solve challenges in project, program, and portfolio management can enroll in instructor-led courses. In addition to the exam prep course, Springhouse offers Project Management Fundamentals and Project Management Essentials.
Following the exam prep course, Springhouse invites students to take practice exams to privately assess their post-instruction comprehension. This will help them identify where they require further study. Springhouse developed The PMP®/CAPM® Exam Cram Q&A workshop to hone in on the areas of the PMBOK® Guide where they need deeper personal understanding.
Over the years, Springhouse-trained professionals have had a high rate of becoming a PMP or CAPM** credential holder.
In addition to being a PMI Authorized Training Partner (ATP), Springhouse provides project management consulting to help clients maximize their investment in supporting tools, like Microsoft Project or Project Server.
*Kevin Kovalic’s list of credentials include PMP, MCP, MCTS, CSSGB, ECBA, PSM I, PSPO I, and Project+.
**CAPM stands for Certified Associate in Project Management®.
